CITY GALLERY THE BALKAN BRIDGES

The programme conception of the Gallery is directed towards presenting chiefly modern visual arts and contemporary events, both at the local and global levels. Each of the exhibitions is accompanied by a printed catalog. In addition, the Gallery hosts literary evenings and lectures.

From 2002. to 2007., Memorial park Kragujevac October had organised international art colonies dubbed The Balkan Bridges, which included 155 authors from Serbia and abroad. The gatherings highlighted the ideas of openness and diversity and would have become an event of European, even global, significance. Both renowned and novice artist were given a chance to meet and exchange their experiences. ![]() A collection comprised of 201 works of art - paintings, sculptures, installations, graphics and drawings - reflects modern tendencies in visual arts. The collection is kept in the City Gallery The Balkan Bridges, a segment in overall activities of the Memorial Park. The Gallery was opened to the public on April 7th 2005. with an exhibition of selected works from previous three colonies, with support from USAID, American NGO ACDI/VOCA and City Hall of Kragujevac.
